Unlike other strap lock systems, LOXX combines great design with thoughtful presentation and outstanding instrument protection. LOXX's unique, German engineered design with its inner spring locking system and high-grade materials keeps your instrument safe while retaining its ease of use - even under the most extreme conditions.
No more struggling to fit a lock to your strap. No more nuts and washers falling on stage halfway through the performance. LOXX has a one handed "easy on - easy off" engage and release action. Yet, it can resist a pull-out force of up to 100kg. Widely used in the marine industry, LOXX's high grade materials are tear-proof, watertight, corrosion-resistant and, naturally, very long-lasting. This, combined with its ability to cover a broad range of strap sizes and thickness, makes it the most advanced and effective strap lock design available.
The intelligent design of the LOXX strap lock system makes it incredibly easy to attach or remove the strap. Once the LOXX pin is screwed into the guitar, the strap can be locked and released single-handedly by simply pulling the locking head.
LOXX is a secure fastening solution that is lockable, easily detachable and prevents accidental opening. Developed more than 60 years ago to fasten soft-top roofs on cars, the LOXX fastener (also known under the name Tenax) has found uses in many fields including the automotive industry, boat accessories, consumer goods, music, automation and other various industries.
The LOXX strap lock system comes complete with everything you need to get started on the installation process, including the multi-purpose tool, and is available in a number of different finishes, with two versions to choose from. One for electric and bass guitar and another for acoustic or classical guitars. Theres also a version available for extra thick straps.
Most strap lock systems consists of 5 or 6 individual components, increasing the complexity when installing the system. With only 3 components, LOXX strap locks are extremely easy to install. LOXX features pin screws that are compatible with most guitars. Just replace the existing strap pin with the LOXX pin, attach the LOXX head to your strap and you are done. It's that simple. Installation can be done in a matter of minutes right out of the box with the included multi-tool. No additional tools are required.
LOXX strap locks feature a low-profile intuitive design. Compared to other brands of strap locks which feature large, bulky and unsightly housings, LOXX strap locks are sleek yet simple. Unlike other strap locks, LOXX lies flush against the underside of your strap. There are no sharp metal edges that can potentially scratch or damage your instrument.
Most strap lock systems have the strap sitting on top of the strap lock. This results in the strap sitting awarkedly further away from your instrument. LOXX strap locks are different. The strap is sandwiched in between the washer and the locking mechanism. This also means that your strap sits closer to your instrument, minimizing the shearing force exerted on the LOXX strap lock as your instrument hangs from your body.
With a pull-out force rated at over 100kg, LOXX provides the ultimate protection for your instrument. Now you won't have to worry about your strap lock system failing on stage and having your prized instrument fall to the ground. The entire LOXX pin is gripped securely by the LOXX locking head. The clever pinch-and-pull mechanism makes it impossible to accidentally disengage the locking system. LOXX strap locks are engineered and manufactured in Germany using 100% lead free materials.
The original “LOXX” strap lock system was invented in 1924 by an English inventor: Mr. Thomas Morton. The application was to be used in the upcoming automotive industry to fasten and lock convertible tops to cabriolets.
In 1926, a German company named “Happich”, which was owned by two brothers, bought licensing rights from Morton, and started the production of the locks in Germany under the name “TENAX”. A local company called “Schaeffer” was assigned with production. By 1980, Happich was one of the biggest automotive suppliers in Europe, selling more than 100 million locks, and employing over 8000 workers, while Schaeffer had 650 employees.
As always in life, nothing lasts forever. Happich was sold to different investment groups and Schaeffer to a bigger competitor. In 2008, however, Schaeffer was sold and renamed Schaeffertec. By that time, Tenax locks were used by many different industries; from Automotive; with Porsche, Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz, Bentley, Audi, and BMW to Marine industry for yacht canvas, tops, covers, to household furnishings; with Miele etc.
The LOXX strap lock system found its way to the music industry by pure coincidence. The current owner’s son was playing at a gig one night, when his bass fell during performance due to the poor strap locking system he was using at the time. The owner with an extra Tenax lock in his pocket, immediately locked one on his son’s bass, and found out that it preformed great, and the “LOXX” strap locks was born.
Unlike other strap lock systems, LOXX lock system combines great design with thoughtful presentation and outstanding instrument protection. This unique, German engineered design with its inner spring and high-grade materials keeps your instrument safe while retaining its ease of use - even under the most extreme conditions.
