Sharon Chong is a versatile pianist/keyboardist who also sings and plays the bass with more than 10 years of work experiences performing in hotels and clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indoneesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Macau & China.
She has a Bachelors of Music in Professional Music & Arranging from the International College of Music, Malaysia (2002) and validated by the University of Westminster, London.
Sharon is passionate about music and she enjoys venturing into various music projects.
She has sessioned for Sheila Majid, Melina William, Reza Salleh, Najwa, Dasha Logan, Poova, Rozz Ritzmann, Edwin Sumun aka Shelah and many others. Her latest project is sessioning for JV Band, Malaysia’s very own Steely Dan tribute band.
Sharon fronted a party show band called Tabloid and also has her other project bands such as 90s Movement (90s music cover band), Quirky Qwerty (polka, swing & world music quintet), VTT (J-Pop) , Charmaine Trio (piano, violin & double bass trio), Velvet (Cantopop & English Oldies), HamsterDamnAged, ZRP, Calico, Kookie Krew and the latest addition, Castera (J-Pop & pop fusion).
She has recorded on Aizat Amdan’s album "Urusan Aizat Amdan (2010)" (AIM 2011 winner for Best Album Cover category and AIM 2011 winner for Best Music Video “Susun Silangkata” and for Reza Salleh’s AIM 2011 winning album "Realise" that was launched at the Apartment KLCC on the 26th Nov 2010.
Sharon performed her first EDM dance track ‘Raise Your Voices’ for the Shout Awards 2013 Opening Act as her alter ego ‘TheEmpress’ and at the AFO Radio launch in May 2014.
She is currently working on her own originals while juggling her busy performing schedule as a session musician.
